I’m starting to lose count of how many times I’ve visited Kyoto. In early February a few friends and I went to Kyoto for the weekend. One of the places we went to was the amazing Fushimi Inari. I’ll be doing a detailed post about this stunning shrine site later.

If you visit Kyoto, this is the number 1 place you must visit. I’ve been to Kyoto many times and visited 11 of the UNESCO World Heritage sites – this is my favourite so far!

One of the must see places in Kyoto and dedicated to the gods of rice and sake 🙂
Is this like a temple or something? Never been to japan but this place really attractive, will plan a trip to Japan in the near future:)

Hi Simon – it’s actually a collection of mountain shrines. While there is a temple or two by the main gate (pictured), paths leading up the mountain are covered by thousands of torii gates. Along the way, there are many various shrines.
